The Kalasha or Kalash, are a Dardic indigenous people residing in the Chitral District of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. They speak the Kalasha language, from the Dardic family of the Indo-Aryan branch, and are considered a unique tribe among the Indo-Aryan peoples of Pakistan.

 

The neighboring Nuristani people of the adjacent Nuristan (historically known as Kafiristan) province of Afghanistan once practiced the same polytheistic religion as the Kalash. By the late 19th century much of Nuristan had been converted to Islam, although some evidence has shown the people continued to practice their customs.

KALASH

"Game of the kings played at the top of the world."
Shandur is the highest polo ground in the world, there is game of polo is played between Chitral and Gilgit in every year of July. The game originated in the dim and distant past in the high mountains of the Hindukush and Karakurum ranges. Amongst the horse loving peoples of Chitral, Gilgit and Hunza.
 
Here it is still played in its original form, a game as tough rough and hard, on man and horse as the surrounding mountains themselves. A game without rules or empire, a game with only a few agreed convention of play. Polo in Khowar called “Istoorghar” has been the traditional game of Chitral, as our motto is “we play polo the game of king and king of the games”. The game is commonly played to the music band comprising a big drum.

SHANDUR

"The heaven on the earth."
Booni, a valley of high mountains, fresh clean waters, green fields, playgrounds, trees and pastures is situated one and a half hours drive from Chitral town. Booni is a valley of highly mountain green farm lands etc. Chitralis the name of a whole district as well as the main town of this district. It draws its name from a tribe known as Chetar. In Khowar, Chetar means a tribe or farm, for the tribe was built upon a big farm.
 
Booni is one of the biggest village in the whole district of Chitral. Its mother tongue is Khowar( Chitrali) is a Dardiclanguage spoken by 400,000 people in Chitral in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, in the Ghizer district of Gilgit-Baltistan(including the Yasin Valley, Phandar Ishkoman and Gupis), and in parts of Upper Swat.This valley has most popularsummer holiday spots for both Pakistanis as well as foreigners. Booni is undoubtedly the most romantic, captivating and enchanting place.

BOONI

"Scenic beauty with peace of mind,"
Ayun is a village of Chitral district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It is located along the Chitral River down towards Lowari Pass. Mountains surround the village and the Bamborate River runs the length of the village. The river is harnessed by a local contractor to generate electricity for both Ayun and Broze villages. Bamborate River is the lifeline of Ayun as it provides water for irrigation, drinking and electricity.

Garam Chashma is a natural hot water springs located in Birmoghalasht, Chitral Distict, Pakistan. This un-spoilt enchanting valley of orchards, verdant fields and snow clad peaks is renowned for its boiling sulphur springs which are famous for healing effect on skin diseases, gout, rheumatism and chronic headaches. For the convenience of tourists “humans” (baths) have been constructed near the springs.
